i have learnt to unlearn the famous phrase that has been passed down to us for a hundred generations.

i do talk to strangers.

even when using sign language is the only mean of communication.

even when the conversation is not more than a mere nod acknowledging our co-existence in the world.

i had to regret doing so on a few rare occasions, but most of the encounters turn out to be quite stimulating. people from streets back home in india, youths from remote villages in thailand and philippines, a red indian man in his 60s in minnesota, co-passengers on a long haul flight, the retired indian army major who has made the mountains of thailand his home, the fellow from new zealand i shared a table in a tiny cafe in london's china town (who likes the himalays) , i did talk to them all. and many more.

this blog is about the places i have been.

the strangers i have met.bpeople i have talked to, and those i have not. people i have never seen ever again.

this is about a few glimpses i saw, heard and felt about lives from around the world.
